Through conducting user interviews and identifying needs, I managed to gain an understanding of the true issues faced by students. Following this, we utilized POVs and contextual inquiry to validate the existence of these problems.
🧠Learning
• During this sprint, I learned how to empathize with a student community in a short amount of time by interviewing a varied range of users who are indicative of a larger demographic.
• It is a competitive market where finding orientation events is more difficult, but emphasizing students helps students uncover their interests and will improve the community, both of which are good for the future.
Takeaways from this project
• If I had more time on this assignment, I would have recruited and interviewed members of student groups and freshman orientation committees to have a greater understanding of the measures put in place to make newbies feel at home.
• Conduct another round of usability testing with the high-fidelity prototype to get input on the visual design and gestures of the app.
• Consider other approaches to boost student involvement on the platform.
Impact
I've developed a unique approach that boosts student independence, enhances understanding, and sparks interest. My strategy is chosen by premier students and is ideal for top-tier student arrangement software.
